Just a heads-up citizens of Lowry City…
Numerous complaints concerning properties in Lowry City with overgrown vegetation, litter on the premises, prohibited vehicles and/or dangerous property have been received.
As spring time starts let’s all be mindful of the city’s ordinances and fines related to violations.
City Ordinance 8003 section 5, paragraph 1(a) states that lumber, junk, trash, or debris are conditions which constitute public nuisance.
City Ordinance 8003 section 5, paragraph 1(b) states that abandoned, discarded or unused objects or equipment such as automobiles, furniture, stoves, refrigerators, freezers, cans or containers are conditions which constitute public nuisance.
City Ordinance 8003 section 5, paragraph 1(c) states that permitting any weeds such as jimson, burdock, ragweed, thistle, cocklebur, or other weeds of like kind found growing on any lot or tract of land in the city, and it shall be unlawful for anyone to permit such weeds, grass or plants, other than trees, bushes, flowers, or other ornamental plants, to grow to a height exceeding 12 inches anywhere in the city; any such plants or weeds exceeding such heights are hereby declared to be a nuisance.
Violations to these sections are subject to a fine up to $100 for first violation and up to $300 for subsequent violations plus legal fees and court cost.
